Mom: "Pulling teeth & headgear were out of the question. They did that to me way back when." The mother of this patient had teeth pulled and wore headgear as a teen. As a result her chin recessed and she has never been happy with her profile or smile. When her daughter began asking for braces to straighter her crooked teeth, Mom set some rules: "No extractions. No headgear. Nothing that is going to pull my daughter's teeth and jaws back into her face." She was also very concerned about the impact of braces on her daughter's airway.
